Station Road – Outcome Of Survey Of Zebra Crossing – Update

Station Road – Outcome Of Survey Of Zebra Crossing

We can confirm that the Council investigation into this matter was completed in December 2012, and the following is a summary extract from the Area Investigation report.
“Traffic surveys have recorded the 85th %ile traffic speed as 30mph.
An examination of the police injury collision database has shown that there have been two injury-related incidents at this location over a five year period, neither associated with the zebra crossing.
There is no justification to provide traffic calming measures at the present time.”
Regarding the two road collisions, one of these involved two vehicles manoeuvring at the junction of Ty-Mawr Road with Station Road, the other was a shunt-type incident as a car slowed to enter the Surgery car park. There have been no recorded road collisions associated with the zebra crossing.

We will be meeting with Council Officers shortly to ensure traffic issues throughout the ward are addressed.
