Llandaff North residents offered advice on how to make their homes warmer this winter.
Welsh Government scheme aims to make homes cosier
Residents of Llandaff North who want free and impartial advice on how to save money on their energy bills are invited to talk to the Energy Saving Trust Nest team.
To coincide with Big Energy Savings Week, a coffee morning is to be held by Llandaff North Councillors Siobhan Corria and Dilwar Ali in Llandaff North Community Centre, Hawthorn Road East, between 10am – 11.30am on Tuesday 23rd October.
The Welsh Government’s Nest scheme provides all householders in Wales with advice, via a Freephone number, on saving energy, money management, benefit entitlement checks and energy tariffs. Nest advisors can also provide initial guidance on energy efficiency schemes across Wales that offer home improvements at no cost or low cost to the householder.
The scheme also offers home improvements at no cost to applicants who own or privately rent their home, live in a property that is not energy efficient and receive a means tested state benefit.
Siobhan Corria, Councillor for Llandaff North, says: “With winter fast approaching and rising fuel bills, we want to assist residents in accessing support and help people in Llandaff North reduce the impact of their fuel bills. We hope that residents can attend the coffee morning and meet with representatives from Nest Wales, gaining some good advice in an informal environment”
To find out if you are eligible for Nest and for more information about energy saving please come along to the surgery, or alternatively call Freephone 0808 808 2244 and speak to one of the Nest advisors.
