Your local councillors, Jennifer and Dilwar, have recently been contacted by Network Rail and to inform us about essential renewal works to be carried out at Glamorganshire Canal Bridge.
We have been informed that the core part of this work will involve essential repair work and painting the underbridge. The redundant walkway will be removed and a new pedestrian walkway installed.
Preparatory work, which includes carrying out structural surveys, is taking place from midnight to 6am on Sundays during April and from 7am on 30th April to 7am on 7th May when single lane traffic management will be in operation on Ty Mawr Road.
Ty Mawr Road will be closed temporarily to vehicles from 7am on 7th May to 3rd August in order for the work to be carried out safely as possible. A road diversion will be in operation throughout the works and will be clearly signposted. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will remain open throughout the duration of the works.
—Drop in event at Llandaff North Rugby Football Club—
A ‘drop-in’ event at Llandaff North Rugby Football Club (42 Radyr Road, Cardiff, CF14 2FU) will take place tomorrow (12 April from 3pm to 7pm). Members of the Network Rail project team will be on hand to answer any questions people may have.
Jennifer and Dilwar will continue to keep residents updated on any developments on this issue and from Network Rail.
