An exciting plan for a state of the art hub on the site of Llandaff North library and day centre has got the go-ahead from Cardiff Council. The plan will go out for the public to give their views in the next few weeks.
The hub, which will include a cafe, will lead to £144,000 worth of savings by bringing a range of services under one roof. The cost will be £1.2million.
“This is excellent news, ” said your councillors Dilwar Ali and Sue White. “We are delighted.”
The hub will offer a large, modern library offering a full range of services including rhyme time and story time as well as other activities to support literacy.
It will also house a full advice and information service including housing and benefit advice and services from partners including the Citizens’ Advice Bureau.
There will also be flexible community space which can be used for social, learning and training activities for all sections of the community. “This will benefit the whole community,” said Dilwar and Sue.
Assembly Member Julie Morgan and Parliamentary candidate Mari Williams said they were pleased Llandaff North was getting a library equipped for the future.
