Your councillors Dilwar Ali and Sue White have, together with your Assembly member Julie Morgan, had a second meeting with Cllrs Bob Derbyshire, Cabinet member for the environment, to talk about the issue of black bags being replaced with bins in certain areas of Llandaff North.
We are pleased that Bob has agreed to assess properties in the affected roads on an individual basis to confirm their suitability for bins. The assessment will be carried out as soon as possible. No fines will be imposed in the locality until the assessment is completed.
Residents can request to have their large green bins replaced with small ones, and there is a possibility that people will be able to have re-usable bags for garden waste if there is not full take-up in allocated areas. This can be arranged by calling Connect 2 Cardiff on 2087 2087 (English) or 2087 2088 (Cymraeg).
There is good news about the availability of green re-cycling bags. They are now being carried on the refuse collection vehicles and will be given out when full green bags display the sticker at the end of rolls. The bags will continue to be available at existing distribution points.
