Listening to Local Small Business Event
On Thursday 30th May, the event was held in the Rules of Play shop in Castle Arcade, and was arranged by the Economy and Culture Scrutiny Committee to hear the problems and issues of small businesses in Cardiff.
Councillors from various parties went and met dozens of small business owners who dropped in to talk about the issues they face and how the Council could improve it’s support.
The Scrutiny Committee will be producing a report following this, and many of the issues raised – how to promote small business in the city, the difficulties of trading during recession, and how to support the unique offer many small businesses have – will be followed up in a further scrutiny investigation into the market and arcades specifically.
